The situation is bad, yes–but it’s not something that can’t be solved. While the actors are angry, I don’t think it’s safe to say that they’re completely disgusted & hate every moment of what they’re doing. I’ve seen a number of moments this seasn where they seemingly enjoyed themselves–take MH & JS in Jack Knif e, for instance. [Yes, I know--Mark & Joe may have been miserable but their acting concealed that. Who knows.] We’ve also had some enjoyable & memorable moments this season. Have the shows been as high-quality as even 2yrs ago? No. Have I seen much worse on other long-running TV shows? Yes. Trust me, it can get much, much worse.
Point is, while the show is struggling in key areas due to SB’s poor management, etc., it’s not dying .* This show has redeemable features, people are still enjoying certain episodes, & the actors are still coming to work. We’ve heard they’re fighting for this show & for the fans. If anything, misery loves company, & making things sound hopeless must only encourage the actors (even the more positive ones) to quit. Who wants to be on a show when part of your fandom has not one positive thing to say about an entire season? Not me.
So, I think we should offer more encouragement to the cast & others who’ve shown their dedication to NCIS . Otherwise, it sounds like we’re just begging them to quit.
*Though if Mark quits, it’s a total loss & the show is over forever. Done.
